A man from a village on the Siraín River was a great singer in the primitive language known as Bukle. He had an apprentice who could not learn the songs despite many lessons. Finally the great singer told the apprentice "If you want, I will teach you hand to tail. But you must go to a secret place that I will tell you. Go alone. Bring no weapons." The apprentice followed the singer's instructions but when he went to the place, the singer was not there. Instead, he found a jaguar. In reality, it was actually the singer in the form of a jaguar sitting high in a tree. The jaguar began to sing a beautiful song whose title means "I am an Orphan." The apprentice returned to the village with this new song and became a great singer himself.
